A Redfish is simply a redfish that has grown to maturity and is over 27 inches. Once a redfish crosses over the 27″ mark, it is considered a “Bull”. They range from the 32 to 40 inch mark but can go bigger.

They play important roles in the food chain and are an important food source for larger animals ranging from fish to whales. Shrimp are widely caught and farmed for human consumption.
The Great White Shark is also a species of the large mackerel shark. They can be found in the coastal surface waters of all the major oceans! The adult Great White is notable for its size. The females can be much larger exceeding 20 ft in length and can weigh in at 4200 lbs at maturity. However, most are smaller. The lifespan of a great white shark is estimated to be as long as 70 years or more. They can swim at speeds over 35 mph.
The flounder is wonderfully adapted for its way of life. Both eyes in adults are on the "up" side of the head and the pigmentation of the upper side of the body can be varied to match the surrounding environment. A small body cavity and the absence of air bladder aid the flounder in maintaining its position on the bottom. During the fall, when flounder are moving to the Gulf for spawning, the best catches are made in the channels and passes leading to the Gulf.
The Mackerel is among the most sought after game fish from North Carolina to Texas. They are known for their speed and are caught mostly by trolling. They are an important species to the commercial and recreational fishing. The King Mackerel is the largest of the Mackerel species; it can grow up to 66 inches.

The most distinguishing mark on the Bull Red is one large black spot on the upper part of the tail base. Having multiple spots is not uncommon for this fish but having no spots is extremely rare. The color of red drum ranges from a deep blackish, coppery color to nearly silver. The most common color is reddish-bronze. It is considered a great sport fish because it will hit on most kinds of bait.
The Mahi Mahi or common dolphinfish is a surface-dwelling ray-finned fish found in off-shore temperate, tropicaland subtropical waters worldwide. Mahi-mahi have compressed bodies and a single long-based dorsal fin extending from the head almost to the tail. Their caudal fins and anal fins are sharply concave. They are distinguished by dazzling colors: golden on the sides, and bright blues and greens on the sides and back. This is one angry Mahi Mahi!
The Yellow Fin Tuna is a Deepwater fish. It is one of the larger tuna species and can reach over 400 lbs. Yellow fin tuna are a popular sport fish and usually travels in schools. They are known for their speed and strength.
The Speckle Trout is one of the most popular sport fish along the Gulf coast. Its abundance, willingness to hit natural and artificial baits, and fine eating qualities make the species extremely popular with anglers.
The striped bass is the largest member of the sea bass family. Stripers are often captured using artificial lures that imitate small fish, such as silver spoons. Deep running lures can also be effective, as may live bait, or cut bait. The striped bass is the state fish of Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island and New York; also known as a rockfish.
